Richard James was the Technical Manager for Polaroid Corporation's Consumer Hardware Division, encompassing manufacturing plants in Scotland, China and the USA. He was responsible for increasing the business performance of Polaroid's instant consumer cameras through improved manufacturing processes and product redesigns. He was the Six Sigma Champion and Black Belt for this Division. Richard is a founding member and VP Finance of our Boston Chapter. He has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University and has completed extensive managerial and technical studies.

Chuck McVinney has spent his entire adult life studying and facilitating learning and creativity in individuals, work teams and organizations. With a background in the arts and education (BA, SUNY and MA, Clark University, Worcester, Massachusetts), he has worked with organizations around the world to create innovative and sustainable organizations. Previously, Chuck worked for many years as an internal management consultant at the Digital Equipment Corporation in Boston. Later, as Director of Training and Development for BBN (Bolt Beranek and Newman) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he created a comprehensive management and organizational development strategy for that company. After leaving BBN, Chuck was Vice President of two successful consulting companies. He launched his own company, McVinney & Company, in the 1990's.

John R. (Dick) Power, CFP, PMP is Director of Executive Education at Goldense Group, Inc. [GGI]. Mr. Power has been practicing in the advanced and new product development and production areas for over thirty years. He is highly experienced in project management of large and complex high technology products from initial phases through production, distribution and sustaining support, having served as a US Army officer for thirty years. For most of that career he was a leader in acquisition of electronic systems for the Army, retiring as a Colonel in the Signal Corps. After that he worked at GTE (before its merger with Bell Atlantic to form Verizon) as Director of Total Quality for the Government Systems Group and later as Corporate-wide program manager for information security. In addition to his work at Goldense Group, he operates his own financial planning practice, Power Plans. Mr. Power holds a BS degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University and an MBA from Babson College. Dick is a graduate of the Defense Systems Management College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. He holds a Diploma in Financial Management from Boston University. He is a Worldwide Vice President of the Society of Concurrent Product Development (SCPD).

Donald Stewart co-founded the Boston chapter of SCPD. He organized more than 30 chapter events, and was chair of two SCPD worldwide conferences. Don founded Concurrency Group, a consulting firm focused on concurrent product development methods. Don's operating experience was at Teradyne, Inc. where all his work involved product development, including responsibilities for product management, sales management, and customer support. He worked closely with in-house development groups and with hundreds of customers in the U. S., Europe, and the Pacific Rim. Don is the author on papers on design methodologies, concurrent engineering techniques and manufacturing processes. He holds an EE degree from MIT and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Through his company TIPE, Inc. and other professional activities, Dr. Michael Burstein has interacted on a continuing basis with major players in Concurrent Product Development (CPC). These have ranged from pioneers of product development at software companies like PTC, MatrixOne, and SDRC to technology gatekeepers and entrepreneurs at lead implementers like Ford Motor Company, Deere and Company, General Motors, International Truck and Engine Corporation, Boeing, and Harley Davidson Motorcycle Company. Many of Mike's contacts have come through his participation on three technical committees (i.e., Product Data Mgt., Process Design, and Production Systems) of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and on the Program Committee for the SCPD Annual International Conference. Much of Mike's interest at this point in CPD springs from his role as an SME-certified Enterprise Integrator where his responsibilities are focused on the IT side of manufacturing. Here, product development processes, along with related coordination of supply chains and shop floors, are key.

Hans Ludi, PhD, has 15+ years of experience in senior management (CEO, CTO and VP of R&D) in the diagnostic and Life Sciences industry with Ciba-Corning, Chiron, Bayer Diagnostics, Biodynamix LLC, and Gnothis Holding Ltd. Recently he has consulted for numerous start-up companies. He has a PhD in Biochemistry form the University of Bern and an MS form the Federal Institute of Technology, Zürich, Switzerland.

Myron ("Marty") Ross received the BS, MS, and PhD in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University in 1964, 1966, and 1970, respectively. He has spent the last 29 years at Verizon/GTE and GTE Government Systems in the assessment of strategic technology options, and the systems engineering of telecommunications networks, and telephone and data switching systems. Currently, Marty is Manager of Technology Planning and Strategy in the Verizon Technology Organization at Waltham, MA, where he is responsible for the assessment of technology and strategic development. Prior to joining SCDP, he was very active in IEEE, EIA, and INCOSE. Marty has a wife, Nancy, and two sons, Eric and Darren.

Paul Edelman is Managing Director of Edelman & Associates, an executive search and technical recruiting firm serving high technology companies. Paul's technical background, and his extensive experience in organization development, has been key to his successful completion of search assignments for companies practicing concurrent product development in fields like medical devices, digital imaging, and enterprise software. Before entering the executive search field, Paul served as Vice President of Staff and Organization Development for a successful microelectronics start-up. Earlier, he had been an internal organization development consultant and Operations Manager of an AT&T subsidiary. Paul holds a BS in Physics from MIT and a PhD in Psychology from Harvard University.
